TSU Team Successfully Completed Participation in the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition

Tbilisi State University team successfully completed its participation in the 46th International Rounds of the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition, which is annually held since 1977 and represents the most prestigious International Law Moot Court Competition in Europe!

 

Teams from leading European Universities annually participate in Telders International Law Moot Court Competition and discuss the current challenges of international law. This years’ moot problem concerned intertwined questions of international courts, the nullity of arbitral awards, the law of treaties, state responsibility, food security, and the law of the sea.

 

The TSU team was completed in 2022 by the International Law Institute, Faculty of Law, TSU with the students of Bachelor and Master Programs of International Law and Law – Tatia Bitsadze, Tamar Vardiashvili, Nikoloz Nurashvili and Nino Akhaladze. The team's coach was Ketevan Chapiashvili, the alumni of the international law program, who herself is the participant and winner of several international and national moot court competitions.

 

This year, 27 teams from leading European Universities participated in the International Rounds. The TSU team competed in the International Rounds against the teams of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Romania, Estonia, and Turkey.

 

As a result of successful participation in the International Rounds, Tbilisi State University team ranked among the top three teams of the competition and took the 2nd place in the overall scoring. At the same time, the Applicant's written position took the 3rd place, and the Respondent took the 2nd place in the oral presentation component.
